Katie (FCILEx) is a Lawyer and a Senior Associate in the firm’s WIQS accredited private client team.
Katie is a fully accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for The Elderly), an Affiliate of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and sits on the committee for the Wales branch of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Katie has a keen interest in elderly client law and is a Dementia friend.
Katie acts for individuals on a range of matters and also acts for charities in relation to legacy management. Shas strong links with other professionals, accountants and independent financial advisors throughout South Wales. She practices in all areas of private client including Court of Protection matters but with a focus on three core areas:
Estate planning
Katie acts for individuals in relation to all aspects of estate planning to include Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys and later life planning. She also advises in relation to ongoing attorney management.
Estate administration
Katie has a breadth of experience in estate administration with an emphasis on intestacies and complex estates. She deals with both excepted and high-value estates and has experience handling estates consisting of Agricultural and Business assets.
Trust implementation and management
Katie advises individuals in relation to various trusts with a focus on inheritance tax planning and management. She also advises and acts for trustees.

Sioned Thomas
Director
Sioned is head of RDP’s Private Client and Agricultural teams.
Private Client:
Sioned deals with succession planning for high-net-worth clients, including advising on wills and setting up and administering trusts.
She deals with complex estate administration, with a particular focus on the agricultural sector.
She also deals with lasting powers of attorney and deputyship applications.
Charities:
Sioned is well-versed in setting up new charities, and advising existing charities on matters such as sale and purchase of land and legacy management.
Agriculture:
Sioned deals with acquisition, sales and refinancing of farms and farmland, farm business tenancies and partnership agreements and, because of her private client experience, is able to take a holistic approach to farm succession planning and the impact of changes to the future of the farming business.
Sioned is STEP-qualified and a fluent Welsh speaker.

Sam is a solicitor within RDP's private client team.
Sam joined RDP as a paralegal in September 2020 working within RDP’s Real Estate and Private Client teams. He then became a Trainee Solicitor in April 2022, before qualifying in October 2023.
Sam deals with areas such as Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and estate administration services as part of the Private Client team.
